About this Campaign

Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach is considered the focal point for Jewish life at NSU, Florida Atlantic University, Lynn University, Broward College and Palm Beach State College. Hillel at NSU is part of the Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach umbrella.

Hillel has been present on the campus of NSU for 27 years but doesn't have a permanent space there. This new facility will provide social, cultural and religious programming for both Jewish and non-Jewish students. It’s a home away from home for the students.

You may see a lot of students here at this space in scrubs because they’re graduate students in the health program, or they may be law students or they may be ungraduated students in education, business and psychology. There will also an interfaith meditation room for students of all faiths on the campus.

“I think before in past years, Jews on campus would come together every once in a while for the holidays, but now we will have a space where we can feel comfortable and where we can do our homework with other Jewish students on campus.”

Mia Fischbein, a second year Jewish medical student at NSU, said, “I think this new space is going to be a really great place for Jewish undergrad and grad students to be able to build a community.”

The NSU Hillel space will be located in campus’ Student Affairs Building, Room 319, at 3301 College Ave. in Davie.
