Lydia's Campaign

Lydia Wetzel of Benedict, Neb., turned to Tabitha Hospice for help. At 57 years old, she was suffering from late stage cancer, had met with her doctor and her family, and knew the time was right for hospice care. But with no insurance, piles of medical bills and a recent denial from the government for supplemental security income, Lydia didn’t know how she would pay for the care that could help not only herself, but her family cope with the final stage of her life. Before the cancer, Lydia loved playing the piano and taught others to love it, too. She spent her time giving back as a Christian school teacher and donating her time and much-appreciated baked goods to her local church.
